DANGERS OF EXCESSIVE CHOCOLATE CONSUMPTION



Health experts refer to the habit of consuming chocolate too much or too often can give less good effect to the health of the body.

Chocolate is indeed a favorite food of almost everyone. In fact, sometimes if you have fun with chocolate, or other foods that contain chocolate, it is hard to stop.

Here is the impact of excess chocolate consumption


1. Increase body weight

If we eat chocolate too often, big chances of weight will rise. In fact, many diet programs are asking us to avoid chocolates first. This is due to the calorie level in the chocolate that is high enough so if consumed with excessive worry will damage the weight loss program.

If we get overweight, it is feared to increase the risk of dangerous diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, and hypertension.

2. Abdominal irritation syndrome (Irritable Bowel Syndrome or IBS)

Irritable Bowel Syndrome is a chronic digestive disorder that affects the colon. IBS causes erratic reactions in the intestines, such as diarrhea that cannot be withheld. Shortly after eating chocolate people may experience bloating, farting, abdominal pain, cramps, diarrhea, constipation or nausea.
 
3. Food allergies

Chocolate products can contain highly allergic ingredients, such as milk, soy, and wheat. If people are allergic to one ingredient in chocolate, it will develop the symptoms in a few minutes. For example skin rash, swollen face, shortness of breath, wheezing, cough, congesti sinus, sneezing and watery eyes.
 
4. Excess sugar intake

Most chocolate products in the high market sugar content. Based on this reason chocolate has a sweet flavor. The problem is that consuming too much sugar can cause poor health effects such as triggering perforated teeth, gum disease, or even diabetes. Especially for diabetes, the disease is not treatable and can lead to serious complications that could have ended up with death.

5. Indigestion

In chocolate there is a caffeine content, which is a content that can also be found in coffee. Caffeine turns out to be stimulant for the intestines.

This means that, if consumed excessively, can cause irritation to the colon until it triggers diarrhea. Chocolate is also acidic which will certainly make the stomach increase the production of gastric acid if consumed excessively.

6. Has high potassium levels

Chocolate is included in foods with high potassium levels. Although it looks good, high levels of potassium can harm people with kidney disease or adrenal disease because it can make the health condition worse.
