Solskjaer Says MU Is Not a Champion Candidate
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has stated that Manchester United are not candidates for the Premier League title. That is because they say, "This is from You."
The Red Devils were held by Everton at Old Trafford on Sunday. MU was held to a 3-3 draw by the Toffees.
MU had a two-goal lead in the first half again. Edinson Cavani and Bruno Fernandes scored goals.
In the second half, Everton equalised through Abdoulaye Doucoure and James Rodriguez. MU took the lead again thanks to Scott McTominay's header, MU's lead dissipated in the final minute thanks to Dominic Calvert-Lewin's goal.
MU still sits second in the Premier League standings with 45 points. They are two points adrift of Manchester City in first place, but the Citizens have only played 21 times.
Former Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool player Jamie Redknapp has denied Solskjaer's assertion that MU are not candidates for the Premier League title. The red Manchester team squad is full of experience for the main reason.
'They're supposed to (chase the title), it's a unique year, you're not going to get a better chance. Liverpool lost a lot of players," Redknapp told Dailymail.
"Going forward, this United team should have confidence. This year all things are possible."
"They're no longer kids, are they? they are full of experience. He's got to tell his team you're confident you can do that.""
"City are by far the best team, but they may still be able to achieve unwanted results," he added.
